Foundation Projects

Village Green

We invite you to enrich our community by supporting the Bay Village Foundation for the establishment of a new Village Green! Planned for the space between City Hall and the new library, the Village Green is a connecting hub for trails leading to local destinations with a beautifully landscaped gathering space for get-togethers and community events.

With generous lead support from emeritus Bay Village Foundation Board Presidents Al Paulus, Rich Veres and their families, and 100% participation from current trustees, we have reached $15,000 toward our $50,000 goal. We need your help to fund this marquee community project! Make a contribution.

Scaredy Cat Run

Formerly called the Heritage Run, the Bay Village Foundation’s annual Scaredy Cat Run is held each October bring the community together and raise funds for the foundation. The festive, Halloween-themed 5K run and 1 mile walk begin at Bay High School, winding through the city’s beautiful tree-lined streets. Participants receive  a long-sleeved shirt, cat ears, a favor bag, refreshments, and most importantly, the opportunity to connect with fellow residents — all for a great cause.

Play in Bay Playground

The project that started it all! The Play in Bay playground came about through the advocacy, fundraising and dedication of a group of community-minded residents. The centrally located playground provides a beloved recreational space for our youngest residents and an informal gathering place for parents and caregivers to meet. The impact of this grassroots project inspired the creation of the Bay Village Foundation, and for more than 20 years, the foundation has continued to invest in the playground and numerous other initiatives throughout the city.

Cahoon Memorial Park Plaques

Each Memorial Day, The Bay Village Foundation hosts an annual public ceremony honoring those individuals, living or deceased, who have been remembered by friends and family. In celebration of these individuals, a bronze plaque with personalized text is engraved and installed on the T. Richard Martin Footbridge overlooking the lake in Cahoon Memorial Park. The plaques are installed at the request of family, neighbors and friends who make a contribution to the Bay Village Foundation.

4th of July Fireworks

Many know Cahoon Memorial Park, located along Lake Erie just east of Huntington Reservation, as home to the annual 4th of July fireworks and Bay Days Carnival. The Bay Village Foundation subsidizes the spectacular fireworks display for families to enjoy, thanks to the generosity of our donors. This time-honored tradition brings together generations of Bay Villagers in celebration of our country’s independence.
